FOR 60 YEARS, Thayer Coggin and Milo Baughman collaborated on designs, engineering, and manufacturing techniques that came to define the mid-century modern era of American residential furniture.
Today, the design classics of Milo Baughman, Allan Gould and others are still built and crafted according to their original and exacting specifications at Thayer Coggin furniture. All of our mid-century modern classsics are custom made to order and handcrafted in our workshops in High Point, North Carolina.
Milo Baughman and Allan Gould's work continues to be highly collectable and owners of vintage pieces continue to pass on their pieces from generation to generation. Both men's furniture have been featured in acclaimed museum exhibitions: Mr. Baughman at the Whitney Museum of American Art and Mr. Gould at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMa).
In a process unique in the home furnishings industry, Thayer Coggin's mid-century modern furniture is bench-made by a single craftsperson. This extraordinary technique ensures continuity among grouped items and guarantees the highest quality upholstery that Thayer Coggin demanded.
Our furniture is made with the finest materials available and is fully customizable. Our products are available in a variety of wood, metal and fabric options. Our in-house curated fabrics include hundreds of choices in a variety of colors, patterns and materials, and we gladly accept client fabrics.
